Producer Profile

As a prolific songwriter and composer, Tunde Jegede's knowledge of the essential building blocks of music lends itself well to his skills as a producer. As well as developing his own material he also runs a small but highly evolved production company, ACM Productions, developing new and innovative sounds with established and emerging acts.

Despite his prolific work in the classical music world Tunde has also worked and learned from many artists in varied fields and genres of music. These include performing with and contributing to recordings by notable artists such as: Trilok Gurtu, Gaspar Lawal, Des'ree, Orphy Robinson, Caron Wheeler, Talvin Singh, The Last Poets, Deepak Ram, Cleveland Watkiss, Damon Albarn and Courtney Pine .

In 2003 Tunde begun to work with new and established names from the more immediate worlds of Pop, Hip Hop and Urban. He has also written and produced for underground bands such as The Nomadic Mystics and the notorious rapper HKB FiNN.

'Nomad' effortlessly blends African Classical Music with Dance, Jazz, Reggae and Pop - a musical epic both in spirit and sonics.

Spoken HerbsIn the Winter of 2005 and through 2006 Tunde, and fellow producers, Derek Johnson, Maya Jobarteh and Don Jose, returned to the drawing board to create a new album. With all they had learned from the previous project, the team of producers and sound designer, Steve Lowe, were keen to build on the legacy of Afro Acoustic Hip Hop but wanted to take the sound even further. The resulting album was Spoken Herbs, a remarkable collection of ground-breaking material that features a wide range of innovative musical styles.
